A part of my heart still beats in the hills of Virginia,
Where the sunlight drips through the clouds like a cool fall rain.
And I guess it's been awhile since I've been to the place of my birth;
Nothing much has changed, I'm just bigger in a smaller world.

It's fall in Colorado and the days are getting shorter and shorter.
Shadows from the aspens are growing longer on the path in front of me.

But I slept late today and I lost my spot in line.
